Do I Trust God?

As Job argued with his friends following the devastating  loss of his farm and family, they tried to convince him that God was punishing him for some sin and he tried to convince them that such was not the case.  He had no great, hidden sin, he said, and refused to confess something imaginary.  Job said, “I don’t understand why this has happened and I still search for understanding and explanation, but my love and trust for God hasn’t changed because of this loss.  Then he pulled out all the stops and made this remarkable statement (Job 13:15). “Even if God puts me to death, I will still trust him!”  I wonder if you could say that today?  Many people would say, “Hey, if God would decide to take my life away and I knew about it ahead of time, I would be quite angry and bitter.  I could never trust someone who would decree to end my life.”  But Job said the opposite.  The point is that TRUST IS TRUST.  Either you trust God completely or you don’t actually trust him at all.  If a friend said, “I trust your driving, but I would never ride with you”, you would conclude (ultimately) they do not trust your driving.  Ask yourself today…”How FAR or how MUCH do I trust God? And why would there be any limit?
